Rail Trail for Railway Children
What is Rail Trail?
Rail Trail is a unique 25km walking adventure challenge exploring iconic London underground routes, raising vital funds for children at risk, and offering camaraderie, photo ops, and the chance to make a real difference – one step at a time!
Established since 2022, Rail Trail is firmly part of Railway Children’s event calendar, with approx. 200 participants taking part each year.
Why did Railway Children approach Elevate?
Railway Children recognised that having their own staff route mark the 25km (16.5 mile) route, in central London the day prior, was too much for the fundraisers working the event. It left them tired, was time consuming when they also had to work the event the following day. The charity required assistance with route marking the event, and the provision of cost effective route marking materials.
How did Elevate, elevate their event?
Through the provision of professional event staff, and loaning the charity route marking materials, Elevate were able to assist Railway with a bespoke staff provision service, and loaning of route marking materials which enabled their own fundraising staff to focus on event day itself.
Working with Elevate was so simple and easy and enhanced our event no end! The team hit the perfect balance between giving us knowledge and advice about how to develop our existing event, whilst also listening to what we wanted and being flexible in their approach. We were able to work seamlessly together with them in the planning of the event, as well as on the day when the team travelled to the event, carried out the aspects required and checked in regularly. We were able to ‘elevate’ our existing, successful event without any additional pressure on the charity staff or volunteers; we will definitely be working with them again!
